1609 Land claimed by the Dutch
1614 Fur Traders start first Settlements Fort Nassau, and Fort Orange, the Dutch cooperate with the Mohawk and Mohicans for mutual benefit
1664 English capture Beverwijk and change it's name to Albany
1686 Albany first chartered as a city
1754 - 1763 French and Indian Wars
1775 - 1783 Revolutionary War
1795 - 1803 Yellow Fever Outbreaks
1797 Albany becomes the Capital of New York
1810s The main exports of Albany were beer, lumber, iron works, and published works.
1832 Cholera Epidemic
1849 Cholera Outbreak
1916 Polio Outbreak
1918 Influenza Outbreak

1609 The Dutch claimed the area.
1628 Settlements start appearing
1642 A brewery, farms, and a ferry are operating
1712 Fort Crailo Built
1754 - 1763 French and Indian Wars
1775 - 1783 Revolutionary War
1795 - 1803 Yellow Fever Outbreaks
1815 Initial Incorporation
1828 A new charter granted
1832 Cholera Epidemic
1849 Cholera Outbreak
1854 Charter Amended
1863 Charter Amended again
1871 A new charter granted
1897 Greenbush chartered as a city, and it's name changed to Rensselaer
1902 Annexation of Bath, and part of East Greenbush
1903 The channel that seperated the Island from the mainland was filled in with sand dredged from the bottom of the Hudson

Robert was born in New York, both his parents immigrated from Ireland.  

The girls in the photo on the right are of Bertha and Elsie King of Rensselaer.  They are nieces of Robert H. Wilson

According to Federal Censuses the grew up in Rensselaer New York.  They were daughter's of Edward King, and Nancy Wilson.  This photo belonged to Robert Wilson, Nancy's brother.
